Defibrillator
We are very pleased to announce that we now have a defibrillator fitted to the front wall of the business hub, facing Pensby Road in Heswall. Working with the Tim Cogley Cardiac Screening Foundation we have fitted this defib on behalf of the charity, in an effort to fight against cardiac issues. It is available 24/7.
Defibrillators, also known as Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), can dramatically improve the chances of a patient surviving a cardiac arrest, when combined with CPR.
The user should position the electrodes (which have diagrams for step-by-step-application) onto the person in distress, and the machine evaluates their heartbeat to determine whether an electric shock is needed. If it is, the defibrillator delivers the shock and monitors the heartbeat again. A screen shows the heartbeat too, and a speaker gives easy-to-follow recorded instructions throughout the process.
With thanks to Wirral Council for supplying the machine & Revolution Four for the plaque.
